Mari State University Concludes Convocation Week 2026 and Announces New Global Initiatives

The celebrations culminated in the Grand Convocation Ceremony, organised in collaboration with Rus Education and the Centre of International Education, where more than 200 Indian medical graduates were awarded their degrees. The university's annual White Coat Ceremony marked the start of Convocation Week and is a testament to the strong sense of community at Mari State University.

Rector Announces New Initiatives for Indian Students
A highlight of Convocation Week was a special live address by Rector Dr. Mikhail N. Shevtsov, who shared important announcements for Indian students and explained the future plans of the university aimed at strengthening its international student community.
As part of these initiatives, the Rector announced the introduction of sports scholarships, which will be awarded to five deserving student-athletes who show outstanding achievements in cricket, badminton, and chess. The scholarships are designed to recognise sporting excellence while encouraging students to pursue holistic development alongside their academic journey.
The Rector also announced the first Global Alumni Meet of Mari State University, which will take place in 2027. The event will be attended by graduates from all over the world, who will have the opportunity to meet with their peers, reconnect with their alma mater, and celebrate the university's growing global network of alumni.
