MarSU accommodates more Ukraine Returned Indian Medical Students

Mari State University, a renowned University in Russia aims to provide a platform for the Indian Medical Students who returned from Ukraine due to the special operation carried out by Russia in various territories of Ukraine. The university announced its willingness to open doors for Indian medical students seeking to resume their interrupted medical education at the university. This came as a relief to Indian Medical Students who returned from Ukraine without any hope of further continuing their career in the medical field.

Last year, Prof. Shvetsov Mikhail N., the esteemed Rector of Mari State University, made his announcement during the special live session hosted by Rus Education, with an aim to help Indian students from various universities of Ukraine to transfer and continue their MBBS program at Mari State University. Among the 20,000 + Indian students, 500+ Ukraine returned Indian Medical Students were able to transfer to the university to continue their medical education. However, a lot of them are still in the midst of continuing their search for options.

Upon learning about the difficulty that Indian Medical Students are facing, and the feedback and recommendations the university received from the students who are currently happily pursuing their medical education at MarSU, this year, on his 3-day visit to India from May 20th to 22nd, 2023, the Rector announced the university's plan to expand its capacity to accommodate more Indian Medical Students who returned from Ukraine.

This announcement comes as a ray of hope for students who are still searching for viable options to continue their medical education without compromising their academic progress. By facilitating the seamless transfer of these students from Ukraine universities, Mari State University ensures that they can resume their interrupted MBBS program in Russia.

The Rector was accompanied by the Chairman of Rus Education, Prof. S.K.Washim, Vice Chairman of Rus Education, Air Marshal Dr. Pawan Kapoor, Director of Rus Education, Dr. Dinesh Singla, and other senior members. During the discussion, Prof. Washim, who works with several Russian Universities to accommodate Indian students for MBBS program in Russia stated, "We are actively working with several Russian Universities to accommodate Indian medical students who return from Ukraine"

The Rector of Mari State University ensured his support to Indian students who seek to continue their MBBS program at Mari State University. During the conversation with him, Prof. Mikhail stated that the university welcomes Indian medical students who returned from Ukraine universities to resume their MBBS studies at the university. This groundbreaking initiative stands as a testament to the university's unwavering commitment to supporting students and fostering academic growth, even in the face of adversity.

Mari State University is one of the few universities in Russia accepting Indian students transferring from Ukraine. It is one of the top universities in Russia offering medical education to students from different corners of the world including India. The university fosters the largest number of International students studying at the University. Currently, more than 4500 International students studying at the university, out of which, more than 1550 are Indian students pursuing MBBS course.
