Mari State University’s Rector Hosts Cultural Insight Session on India’s Role in WWII

In a recent initiative to foster global understanding, the Rector of Mari State University and prominent lecturer of the Russian society “Znanie,” Prof. Mikhail Shvetsov N., engaged international students in an enlightening session on India in the Second World War.

Highlighting the deep-rooted historical ties between Russia and India, emphasized the critical contribution of Indian soldiers and civilians, showcasing the bravery of more than 2.5 million Indians who served on various fronts.

The session encouraged students from across the world to reflect on shared histories and the importance of international solidarity. It is aligned with the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, symbolizing the power of cooperation between the two nations. Prof. Shvetsov remarked, “This discussion is not just about history; it’s a tribute to mutual respect and unity. At Mari State University, we are proud to welcome students from all corners of the globe and inspire them through collective knowledge, values, and the legacy we carry together.”
